GastroFish Project: Kick-Off Meeting in Turkey

GastroFish project kick-off meeting was held on October 12, 2021 in Armutlu, Turkey.

Aiming to analyze and support the interest of young people in seafood consumption, seafood gastronomy, and sport fishing, GastroFish Project partners met in Yalova after a long, compulsory period of time due to Covid-19.

After the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Suat Cebeci, Rector of University of Yalova, Project Coordinator Prof. Dr. Derya Güroy made presentations on the Gastrofish project objectives and targeted results. Project representatives from INNOPOLIS/Greece, DIDEAS/Spain, CEIPES/ Italy and SUYMERBIR (Fisheries Breeders Producers Central Union) and AKSAM (Mediterranean Fisheries Research, Production and Training Institute) /Turkey made presentations introducing their institutions.

During the meeting in which Covid-19 measures were strictly followed, the project management meetings, project staff training meetings planned to be held in Greece, Italy and Spain in the upcoming months, and the current status of the project intellectual outputs.were discussed. The meeting was closed with ceramony of “Certificate of Participation” for participants by the project coordinator.
