Strong Progress for the BIO-DISTRICT APP Project: Partners Advance to the Next Phase

03 March 2026 | 10:00 (GR Time)

On 3 March 2026, the partners of the BIO-DISTRICT APP project held a productive online coordination meeting, bringing together the Greek partners and the project leader, CIHEAM Bari, to review progress and align on the next phase of implementation. The meeting marked another important milestone in the project’s development and reinforced the strong collaborative spirit within the partnership.

The discussion focused on several key areas crucial to the smooth advancement of activities. Partners reviewed the finalisation process of Work Packages 3.1 and 3.2, ensuring that all planned deliverables are progressing according to schedule and in line with project objectives. Particular attention was given to the methodology and ongoing progress related to stakeholder mapping within bio-districts, a core component aimed at strengthening participatory governance and inclusive territorial development.

In addition, the Greek partners provided updates on procurement procedures, addressing administrative steps required for the effective implementation of upcoming activities. The coordination meeting also included detailed planning for the organisation of stakeholder engagement meetings in both Greece and Italy, which will play a central role in fostering dialogue, collecting feedback and enhancing cooperation among local actors.

A significant point on the agenda was the preparation of the first joint partners–stakeholders meeting to be held in Bari in June 2026. This upcoming event is expected to further consolidate cross-border collaboration, promote knowledge exchange and create synergies between institutional representatives, experts and local stakeholders from the Greece–Italy cooperation area.

The meeting once again demonstrated the excellent cooperation, strong coordination mechanisms and shared commitment among all partners to successfully deliver the project’s objectives. Through systematic planning and continuous communication, the BIO-DISTRICT APP partnership is steadily building stronger networks, deepening knowledge exchange and developing innovative solutions that support sustainable bio-district development.

Step by step, the project continues to contribute to the green transition and to reinforce territorial cooperation between Greece and Italy, laying the groundwork for long-term impact across the cooperation area.
