3 July 2026FUTURE-ART Consortium Meets in Lisbon to Shape Art-Driven Fight Against Human Trafficking

On 2–3 July 2026, the FUTURE-ART consortium came together in Lisbon for two days of focused collaboration at the project’s Content Meeting, hosted by partner organisation IPS – Innovative Prison Systems. The gathering brought partners face to face to consolidate progress and set a shared course for the work ahead.
Reviewing Progress and Locking in Milestones
The first order of business was taking stock. Partners reviewed the project’s achievements to date and agreed on the next set of deadlines and milestones, ensuring the consortium moves forward with a common understanding of what needs to happen and when.
Art as a Tool for Youth Engagement
A central outcome of the meeting was the endorsement of the WP3 Action Plan, which places creative expression at the heart of the project’s mission. The plan is designed to engage young people in the fight against human trafficking through art, using creative practice as a way to build awareness and spark meaningful involvement.
Building the Digital Toolkit
The consortium also pushed forward on its digital resources, advancing two key tools: the Liberté Learning Platform and the Liberté Legal App. Together, these are intended to make educational and legal content more accessible to the young audiences the project aims to reach.
From Awareness to Action
One of the highlights of the two days was a roundtable with the project’s Advisory Board, held under the theme “From Awareness to Action.” The discussion validated the consortium’s research and helped define the priorities that will guide the development of its educational resources, grounding the project’s next steps in expert input.
A Clear Path for the Content
Looking ahead to the material that will ultimately reach young people across Europe, partners agreed on the learning objectives, structure and pathways that will shape the content. This alignment gives the team a solid foundation for producing resources that are coherent, purposeful and ready to make an impact.
Thanks to the Hosts, and On to Italy
The consortium left Lisbon with a clear plan and a shared sense of direction for the months to come. Partners extended warm thanks to IPS for the excellent organisation and hospitality that made the meeting a success.
The next chapter of the project’s journey will take the consortium to Italy, as FUTURE-ART continues its work toward eradicating human trafficking.
FUTURE-ART is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
