Pathways of Resilience: Cultural Tourism for Integration
ISRICM-EU Project | European Social Fund Plus (ESF+)
As part of the Innovative Solutions for Refugee Integration and Crisis Mitigation (ISRICM-EU) project, INNOPOLIS developed a groundbreaking cultural tourism itinerary connecting Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine through shared Orthodox traditions and refugee narratives.
About Pathways of Resilience
This 14-page cultural itinerary is more than a travel guide—it is a narrative of resilience, a celebration of shared identity, and a tool for social integration. The itinerary weaves together:
- Orthodox Christian Heritage: Exploring landmarks, festivals, and religious traditions that connect communities across borders
- Historical Migration Narratives: Tracing the paths of past refugee movements and honoring their contributions
- Contemporary Integration Stories: Highlighting the experiences and resilience of Ukrainian refugee communities in host countries
- Cross-Border Cultural Routes: Featuring stops in Thessaloniki, Plovdiv, Iași, Suceava, and Chernivtsi
Through maps, narratives, heritage site descriptions, and personal stories, the itinerary promotes cultural awareness and empathy while providing practical tourism guidance. It serves as a model for heritage-based integration efforts and demonstrates how cultural tourism can facilitate social cohesion.
Working with cultural institutions like the Romanian Peasant Museum and refugee organizations including METAdrasi and Multi Kulti Collective, we gathered authentic stories and created a resource that serves both as a tourism guide and integration tool. The project achieved over 85% stakeholder satisfaction and offers a replicable model for heritage-based social cohesion.

Human trafficking thrives in silence. FUTURE-ART breaks that silence through art.
This three-year initiative brings together partners from France, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, and Türkiye to tackle human trafficking through creative expression and youth mobilization. We believe young people aren’t just potential victims—they’re powerful advocates for change.
Through art workshops, digital campaigns, and storytelling sessions, we’re building a generation that can recognize trafficking, challenge it, and prevent it. Participants explore complex realities through painting, performance, film, and design, turning awareness into action and creativity into advocacy.
Each young person involved receives a FUTURE-ART Certificate recognizing their commitment and skills. Together, we’re creating campaigns that reach thousands, influencing policies, and proving that art isn’t just decoration—it’s a tool for justice.
