Description
The FUTURE-ART Project is a transnational initiative under Erasmus+ that aims to combat human trafficking by harnessing the power of creative expression, youth engagement, and digital innovation. The project focuses on empowering young people across Europe through a range of integrated activities, including interactive art workshops, digital education platforms, and targeted public awareness campaigns.
At its core, FUTURE-ART recognizes that young people are not only vulnerable to trafficking but also key agents of change in fighting it. By engaging youth in art-based interventions and creative storytelling, the project fosters critical thinking, emotional resilience, and social awareness. Simultaneously, it provides concrete tools and educational resources to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, prevent, and act against trafficking in human beings.
The project’s expected outcomes include:
- Heightened awareness of human trafficking among European youth and the wider public
- Empowerment of young people through creative and participatory methods
- Stronger public engagement and advocacy efforts
- Enhanced recognition and visibility of youth-led initiatives
- Tangible influence on local, national, and EU-level anti-trafficking policies
As part of the EU Youth Strategy (2019–2027), FUTURE-ART integrates capacity-building training, peer-to-peer learning, and youth-led advocacy, ensuring that young participants and youth workers alike can play an active and informed role in their communities. To acknowledge their engagement and support their professional journey, all participants will receive a FUTURE-ART Certificate, formally recognizing the competencies acquired and enriching their CVs.
Furthermore, the project seeks to strengthen collaboration among NGOs, cultural institutions, and civil society organizations, fostering sustainable partnerships that amplify the long-term impact of youth-driven anti-trafficking efforts. FUTURE-ART will culminate in a series of high-profile dissemination events and conferences, creating platforms for knowledge exchange, public dialogue, and policy engagement.
In summary, FUTURE-ART is not just a project—it is a growing movement that leverages art, education, and youth participation to build a more informed, resilient, and proactive generation in the fight against human trafficking.
